Alva Roti Box
A roti box you can put on the table. Turned from acacia with a fitted lid, a turned knob, and handles on both sides so it can be passed down a full table without anyone touching the rim. It keeps rotis soft and covered from the tawa to the last serving.
Made by hand
Cut, shaped and finished by hand. Because no two pieces of wood are the same, the grain on the one you receive will not match the photograph exactly. Read how it is made →
Details
- Bowl Material: Acacia Wood
- Number of Pieces: 2
- Colour: Natural Wood Brown
Care
Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry standing on edge. Oil occasionally with any food-safe wood oil to keep the grain from drying out. Not dishwasher safe, the heat and the standing water are what split wooden boards.
Wood breathes in a way steel does not, so rotis stay soft rather than going damp under a lid.
Acacia, mango, haldina and sheesham. No veneer, no particle board.
Cut, finished, and on the carved pieces patterned by hand.
Every board carries its own grain. Yours will not match the photograph.
Wash, dry standing on edge, keep it out of the dishwasher.

Our craft
Made by hand, meant to be kept
Each piece is cut, shaped and finished by hand. Looked after, a wooden board outlasts almost anything else in the kitchen, and when it wears you sand it back rather than throw it away.
